I set up this website to try to present basic biblical truth and fundamentals of sound Christian doctrine in a practical, straightforward fashion, in hopes that new believers may be encouraged and seekers may be helped to recognize the God of the Bible as the one true God, understanding more clearly their own fallen state and need for salvation.

Despite the dedication and good intentions that abound in Christian evangelism and culture, it can prove difficult for non-Christians to sift through much of the assumptions, terminology, and frankly, noise within mainstream evangelism to hear a clear explanation of the gospel. Certainly there are no shortcuts to grasping God's word, and He alone brings comprehension, but the methods and language often used to introduce the gospel can actually become an obstacle to understanding. There is no substitute for straight talk, and I know that if I had encountered more plain, practical presentations of biblical truth and doctrine early on, it would have helped me on my path as a Christian.

With that in mind I have tried to introduce a few essentials in as straightforward and rational a manner as possible. Doctrinal positions expressed here are consistent with the statement of faith linked at right. As God brings a Christian along in grace and knowledge He increases their understanding of His word, and I wanted to share what I know as I continue to learn. It is my hope that God will bless this imperfect effort and that it might encourage and help others.
